ORGANIC COTTON
We use organic cotton in denim, knitwear and tops. Organic cotton is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, which leads to improved soil condition, lower greenhouse gas emissions, stronger biodiversity and better health among the cotton growers. Organic cotton also means 62 % less energy and 71 % less water usage on average compared to the sourcing of traditional cotton. The HIGG score for organic cotton is 48, compared to traditional cotton which is 99.
ECO DENIM
All Mayla Denim styles are made of organic cotton or a mix of organic cotton and recycled materials such as REFIBRA™. When producing our denim styles, we use sustainable washing methods such as E-flow and Eco stone wash.
DEADSTOCK MATERIALS
We produce some of our garments of deadstock materials, which are leftover and over-ordered fabrics from wholesalers, other designers and fabric warehouses. By using available fabric, we reduce textile waste and lower our carbon footprint. The materials we use are vegan and have a verified fabric composition.
